Over the years, Ellis has established a number of long term relationships with clients, including CRST, MXD Group, Nashville Symphony, National Forwarding and Sirva Military.

Company History

Ellis Moving and Storage was founded by Buster Ellis in 1918 here in Nashville. A CPA by trade and a mover by passion, Robert Johnson and his mother, Nannie Lee, purchased the company from Mr. Ellis in 1958. Under the leadership of Mr. Johnson, the company expanded significantly over several decades. A new facility was built in 1997 to accommodate the growing business the company received. Ellis Moving was purchased by Mitchel & Sandra Borske in May of 2012 and in 2013, the company moved to a newer modern facility in Old Hickory.

In 2004, Mr. Johnson passed on, but the company has continued his business legacy through various achievements and partnerships. In 2008, Ellis Moving And Storage became partners with the North American Van Lines network of agencies to help manage the company’s growing relocation business. Our current facility is a modern, secure structure with 61,000 square feet of storage space.
