A Proud History of Moving & Storage Excellence
Buster Ellis founded Ellis Moving and Storage here in Nashville back in 1918. A CPA by trade and mover by passion, Robert Johnson and his mother, Nannie Lee, purchased the company from Mr. Ellis in 1958. Under Mr. Johnson’s leadership, the company expanded significantly over the next several decades.
To accommodate the company’s growing business, a new facility was built in 1997. In May of 2012, Ellis Moving and Storage was purchased by Mitchel and Sandra Borske. The next year, the company relocated to a new facility in Old Hickory.
Although Mr. Johnson passed away in 2004, the company has continued his business legacy through various achievements and partnerships. In 2008, Ellis Moving and Storage partnered with North American Van Lines’ network of agencies to help manage the company’s growing relocation business. Recently rebranded as Ellis Transportation, our current facility is a modern, secure structure with over 61,000 square feet of climate-controlled storage space.
